Educator, CEO, and Mental Health Advocate
Beyond the classroom, SaMia is a trailblazer in the mental health space. Recognizing the critical need for emotional support and self-awareness in education, SaMia Kennedy has dedicated her career to fostering academic excellence and emotional resilience in her students. With over eight years of experience as an educator, she has successfully merged academic achievement with emotional intelligence, setting a standard for holistic education.
SaMia’s passion for mental health advocacy is deeply personal. She understands firsthand the profound impact emotional resilience can have in navigating life’s toughest challenges. Her initiative, The Jones-Kennedy Project (The JK Project), was born out of personal experiences with loss and the transformative power of emotional healing. Through The JK Project, she aims to provide students, educators, and communities—particularly in underserved areas—with practical, research-backed resources to support mental health and wellness.
As CEO of The JK Project,
SaMia has developed innovative mental health resources, including the annual “I Matter” workbook, which offers engaging, structured activities designed to cultivate emotional stability, self-awareness, and resilience. Her goal is clear: empower individuals with the tools they need to thrive, academically, socially, and emotionally.
Driven by a relentless commitment to making emotional well-being accessible to all, SaMia continues to inspire educators and students alike, proving that true success extends beyond academics—it encompasses the strength of the mind, the power of resilience, and the courage to change mentalities, one activity at a time.
